Born and bred in the northern state of Penang, but I am currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I express my love for the beauty of colour and light through photography. Started off with nature photography but later developed an interest in action photography.
Today, as a photojournalist with the nation’s largest English newspaper, THE STAR, I cover almost every topic in modern photography but my speciality lies in sports and news.
It may surprise some that my photography skills are self-taught as my background lies in information technology. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Information Technology Multimedia from Charles Stuart University, New South Wales, Australia.

Photography is my life and I am lucky to be making a living out of what I love passionately!
Have the right attitude and professionalism. Be humble. Never stop learning. Photography is a never ending journey and keep on looking for that creative angle.
As for advice in terms of what equipment to use, use what you are comfortable with. Big, fast, "professional" glass is not necessary to take outstanding photos. Proper composition and exposure will go a longer way towards making your shots extraordinary.
To sum it up, my all time favourite phrases are:
"I want a picture to reflect not only the forms but what I had seen and felt at the moment of exposure" - Ansel Adams
"I don't respect reputation - it's the picture that count" - Andy Rouse
"If your pictures aren't good enough, you’re not close enough." - Robert Capa
