PocketWizard Plus II problem

For those owning PocketWizard Plus II with serial number 609xxxx, you might be facing the same problem as I am. Here’s a reply from Patrick Clow, Web Marketing & Tech Support Manager

I have replicated your problem with high speed motor drive issues.  We are looking into the problem.  Your 608xxxx unit is a Plus 2.0.  Your 609xxxx unit is a Plus 2.1 unit.  They should not have the issue you describe, so we are working on a correction.
 
As far as Transmit Only mode, the following should help:
 
PLUS 2.0 Normal blink rate – 1 blink every 2 seconds
 
PLUS 2.0 TX Only blink rate – 1 blink every 1 second
 
PLUS 2.1 Normal blink rate – 1 blink every 3.5 seconds
 
PLUS 2.1 TX Only blink rate – 1 blink every 1.75 seconds

We have released updated Plus II firmware.

Please send your 2.1 units in to us for an update. This will be handled as a warranty

repair.

  2. Datuk Glenn, what actually is the problem with your initial 609xxxx?
    I don’t plan to go with the new FlexTT5 (as I prefer manual), but might consider the MiniTT1 bcoz of the compact size. Furthermore, the ETTL is screwy after 40feet.

  3. Hafiz.. I’m using the EU version of the PlusII

    Would i buy the latest PW ? When they release the EU version.. i might consider. hehe!

    US version might have some interuption with our other wireless system here.

  4. Mr. Glenn, what type of PW did u used? the EU or US verstion? Would you buy the newest FlexTT5 and MiniTT1? Thank you for sharing.
